Our Programs

CN Initiative runs four connected programs that support people through crisis, stabilize them, and create pathways forward. We listen first, honor each person’s story, and tailor our support to their strengths, culture, and hopes for the future. Each program is built on what people need: support, access, and the chance to move forward with dignity. CN Initiative is based in Garland, Texas, and serves individuals and families in Garland, downtown Dallas, and part of Oak Cliff.

SAFE HARBOR PATHWAYS

Safe Harbor Pathways provides immediate health and stabilization for people experiencing crisis, trauma, or instability.

  • Mental health support and trauma recovery
  • Substance-use and suicide prevention support
  • Housing support — help with initial deposits, first month’s rent, and housing referrals
  • Transportation support for essential appointments—court dates, probation check-ins, and meetings with social workers and service providers
  • Basic needs support (food, essentials)
  • Family reunification

COMMUNITY STABILIZATION HUBS

Community Stabilization Hubs offer urgent, accessible support for everyday needs during emergencies.

  • Warming Center: Safe shelter during extreme weather
  • Soup Center: Hot meals and a place to connect
  • Food Pantry: Weekly groceries and emergency food

MAKE THE ROAD

Bail Support & Stability

Helping people avoid jail because they can’t afford bail — and supporting them as they return home.

  • Bail support for eligible nonviolent cases
  • Court reminders and rides to court
  • Help with housing-related costs like rental application fees

PAINT IT FORWARD

Paint It Forward builds leadership and community power through skill-sharing, connection, and advocacy opportunities.

  • Learning how systems work and how to navigate them
  • Mutual aid and community support
  • Podcast and advocacy work
  • Leadership opportunities

JUSTICE FORWARD LAB

The Lab Data & Accountability: Ensuring our work is effective — and always improving — by tracking outcomes across programs.
